After graduating college in 1993 in the field of Visual Communications, I took my first post-graduate job at a company in downtown Indianapolis, that specialized in high-end color separation and prepress materials. In the four years I worked there, I quickly learned the ropes of dot gain, under-color removal, CMYK separation and printing. Having worked closely with all the major design houses and presses in Indianapolis, my job grew into a passion for perfection.
A relocation to Lafayette, Indiana in 1997, meant leaving the fast paced world of Indianapolis and slowing it down a bit. I was hired by a smaller, local printer to help train their customer service, prepress and designers in CYMK printing, as the company was growing from a recent purchase of an existing local printer. Once the crew was trained, my position there shifted into a project manager/designer for a few years. I greatly enjoyed my time there and the local connections that were made, however it was time to work for myself as a freelance designer. That was 17 years ago, and I have had the pleasure of being self employed ever since.
If you have visited Lafayette - West Lafayette, Indiana either in person or on the web, I can guarantee you have visited my working portfolio. From downtown signage and banners, visitors guides and brochures to community tourism websites and more. My work is both noticeable and plentiful. Please take time to look over my portfolio.
"Most people sit down at a restaurant, sip their beverage and scour over the endless options of appetizers and entrees. For me, I can't wait to identify fonts and Pantone colors." — Tammy Stanisz
